It's almost half term!

This week has been very busy!

We have been learning how to tell the time! We began by making our own clocks. We coloured in one half pink for past and the other blue for to.

We moved on to converting analogue clocks to digital clocks and some of us have even started using the 24 hour clock!

Please carry on this hard work and keep practising at home!

Now we have made our mummies we have began to make the sarcophagus for it to fit in to. It was fiddly work but we are getting there!

Check out our spooky Halloween science experiment! Why don't the substances mix together? ... It's all about how dense they are!

On the final day of term we have all been working together to create some banners for the hall that display our golden values!

We would like to wish Amber, Finn and Mrs Rickard a very happy Birthday!!

Harvest Festival

Last week in Maths we were looking at the properties of different shapes. We started off with an investigation where we had to make our own shapes to fit the descriptions.

Following on from this we looked at the different angles we found in shapes, looking firstly at right angles and then moving on to acute and obtuse angles. We even went out on the playground to look these different types of angles although it was a bit windy!

In English last week we planned and drafted the next part of our Egyptian adventure story focusing on using different connectives to make our writing more exciting. We can almost write up our Egyptian adventure stories, I hope you're looking forward to reading them!

In our topic work last week we painted our mummies and looked at the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. If you get a chance, ask the children where it was discovered and who discovered it!

Our big achievement last week was our harvest festival performance. We worked hard at keeping our poem to the rhythm and saying our lines loudly and clearly. Thank you to everyone who came and watched, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Bonjour!

Here we all our during show and tell. What do you think we brought in?

This week in Maths we have been using the column method to subtract. At the beginning of the week we found it a bit tricky but now we are experts at it! Our homework this week will help us to practise what we have learned!

In English this week we have been planning our own adventure stories about Egypt. Today we have written our openings. Watch out for our full stories coming soon!!

In art this week we have been paper macheing our Egyptian mummies, next week we will paint them!
