National Sports Week

What a sporty week we've had!

We started off he week with sports day... Slightly different this year but with lots more activities for the children to take part in! Everyone really enjoyed the day and had lots of fun trying new events!

On Wednesday the Year 3s went to Sleaford for their mini-Olympics festival! It was a fantastic day and really inspired the children to try new sports and be more active! Even the staff enjoyed trying out new things!

We even learnt a Haka...

Check out our rugby tackling!

Thank you to Mrs Harby, Mrs Stevens, Mrs Norton and Mr Mussel for coming to support us!

On Thursday we had the year 4 mini-Olympics festival in Grantham, another inspiring day! We met lots of celebrity sports men and women and had a go at new activities like boccia, wheelchair races and learning a Haka.

Our bronze ambassadors Charlotte and Joe came with us to help us and they were fantastic! They cheered us on and encouraged us with each activity... As well as having a go too!

This week the children also got their prizes for raising money for the target football and the winning children from each class received their certificate and medal!

A busy first week back!

In maths this week we have been looking at symmetry and also parallel and perpendicular lines.

We finished off the week looking at factor pairs.

Whilst the year 4s were away at the church schools festival the year 3s had lots of fun try into make rainbows in the sunshine!

By the end of our science lesson we understood how rainbows were formed and what we needed to make a rainbow! I wonder if anyone can make one at home whilst it is sunny?

On Friday the whole school had the chance to take part in the FSA shoot out challenge. One class at a time the children stepped up to try and kick or throw the ball at the target, trying to get thigh east score as possible! Well done to Finn and Maddie who both drew with a score of 200 for Lincoln class!

At the end of a lovely first week back th children couldn't get enough of lessons... Here they are playing   'Teachers' in golden time!
