World Book Day

Last week in Maths we were looking at shape. During the week we looked at identifying different types of angles in shapes and some of us even began looking at how to use a protractor to measure angles! We also learnt about parallel and perpendicular lines and looked at different shapes to see if we could find any. 

This week in Maths we have recapped column addition and subtraction and have used this to help us answer some questions about different bar charts. We have also collected our own data and presented these on bar charts using the laptops. 

Over the last couple of weeks in English we have been using Hogwarts to learn about non-fiction texts. We have written school reports for Hermione and Harry, a non-chronological report about the Hogwarts model and also a school prospectus for Hogwarts! 

World Book Day

What a fantastic day! 

The whole school put in a lot of effort to create cakes and crafts to represent their favourite book. Take a look at some of our creations!

This morning we shared our favourite books with the class and even had a selfie with them! We also played a few World Book Day games like 'Who Am I?' where we had to ask questions to work out which book character we were. 

In the afternoon the Year 5s came to read with us and some of our Mums and Dads also came in to read with us and enjoy some our tasty creations that we baked! 

Some of us even enjoyed reading in our cave!!
