Year 3/4 Residential to Scarborough

What a fantastic 3 days!!
We have all had a brilliant time over the past few days exploring Scarborough, Cayton Bay, Flamborough Head and the Yorkshire Wildlife Park!

Have a look at what we got up to!

Day 1:

A 'picnic' lunch in the hotel to shelter from the rain when we first arrived!

The rain soon cleared and we walked to the castle and then down to the seafront for a scavenger hunt!

Very happy to have found his name!!

And finally a stop at the park after walking up the big hill back towards the castle!

Back to the hotel to take our suitcases to our rooms and get ready for dinner!

We all had lentil soup for starter, a roast dinner and ice cream and jelly for pudding!

A quick change into our disco clothes a fun disco to finish off our first day!

Day 2:

The next day we woke up early, had breakfast and set off for Cayton Bay! The weather was looking very promising!

Exploring on the beach was fun! We made sand castles, sand art and even used the sand to explore sea defences!

Let's not forget time for a quick paddle in the sea before heading to Flamborough Head!

Off to Flamborough Head for lunch and more time to explore! We saw features of coastal erosion and looked at the planning for a new caravan park there! Most of us decided we didn't want the planning permission to be granted!

After a long day we got back on the coach to go back to the hotel for dinner. Nachos to start with a choice of a cheese burger or hot dog and chips plus a cornetto! 🌭🍔🍦

Showers and pyjamas on for a film night before bed!

Day 3:
Before breakfast we had to strip our own beds and take our suitcases downstairs! Then we were off for our final adventure to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park!

Saying goodbye to the 2 people who looked after us whilst we were here!

Watching The Lion King on the way!

After a fantastic final day we were on our way home to give our Mums and Dads a great big hug!!

A huge thank you to the Stuart House Hotel in Scarborough for looking after us and also to Mrs Glendinning, Mr Glendinning, Mrs Rickard, Mrs Locke and Miss O'Rourke for helping the trip run so smoothly!

And also a massive well done to all the children who did Caythorpe School very proud!
